I have to post this…

Who is your role model? Your hero, the one you look up to for advice on this journey?

I say it loud and clear, Nancy is my role model, she is so upbeat, and wise and ready to share her wisdom. She rocks with the workouts and diet.

I saw this article, and I want you all to think about having a positive role model in your life.

Someone to Watch Over Me

To chase down big goals like losing 50 pounds or more, you’ve got to make some major lifestyle changes. Some shifts are easier than others. For instance, trading your chips for air-popped popcorn might be a little easier than getting up at the crack of dawn to exercise every day. For that kind of change, you might need a little extra support.

To help keep your feet firmly on the path to successful weight loss and fitness, find someone to look up to — someone whom you trust to educate you about health and fitness, give you advice and answers when you’re feeling lost, and stimulate your sense of possibility and potential.

My role model was a fellow student at the karate studio I attended. Four years older than I was, he was smart, funny, charismatic, and one hell of a fighter. He was testing for his black belt while I was wearing the blue. I took to him immediately, and he became my mentor — the big brother I’d always wanted but never had. I admired and looked up to him, aspiring to follow his example.

The easiest way to get instant support is to hire a personal trainer, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get the support you need. Look for a sponsor in a local support group or a trusted friend who has been there, done that — basically, anyone you respect who has the knowledge you need and the ability to challenge you and keep you moving toward your goal.

So glad you posted this! :)
My hero is Billy all around, even in this weight loss journey because he has stuck with me on it from day one! We are both learning how to live a healthy life together.

I am thinking about this. I have many heroes. But as far as being on Buddyslim, I look to Nancy, I do not however, want to put her on a pedastal. The fall can be long and hard. I do admire her attitude. I admire her willingness to work out and that does inspire me to workout. But lol, I could never do what she does. I admire and am grateful for her dedication to Buddyslim. She is awesome! So are you Kama!

My current role model is my new kickboxing teacher. She is tough, strong, encouraging, fit, and motivating. Oh, and who doesn’t look up to Wonder Woman?? :)

My role model is my husband, who confine to a wheelchair and has Muscular Dystrophy purposely lost 40 pounds without being able to exercise. His discipline with food is amazing. It took him a while to lose it, but he has gone from an XL to a medium shirt size. His advice is keep busy with work or hobbies and you won’t be thinking about your next snack. That is a good recommendation for me as I am a snacker. I can’t wait till I reach my goal so we both will have done it. Also, I am my oldest daughter’s support person at WW. So far, so good. She’s lost 47.

There are so many women on buddyslim that I look up to. They from different walks of life and in all different stages of their weightloss journey. Just having the dedication to keep going regardless of if they feel like it or not is what inspires me!!!
