Ordinary Days
July 18
They who sow in tears shall reap in joy and singing.
—Psalm 126:5
Our days in the kingdom of God are like seeds scattered upon the ground. We must continue to sleep and rise, night and day, while the seeds that we sow through our words and deeds sprout and grow and increase (See Mark 4:26–28).
Most days are not full of excitement, and some days are more difficult to endure than others. But we can learn to enjoy the ordinary and the challenging days of our lives. As the earth produces first the blade, then the ear, and finally the full grain in the ear, so will our lives produce a great harvest from our faithfulness in sowing righteousness.
Continue to do what you know is right to do, and enjoy this ordinary day. You are one day closer to a joyful harvest.
Good morning, buddies. I sure needed this today. Am feeling tired and a bit burnt out.
But I will continue to put one foot in front of the other and keep doing the next right thing.
Plus, today’s quote reminded me that we are not in this alone, and we do hold each other up:

So, with all that said, how are you today? I’m ok, got to bed kind of late, was spending more time with Ted, we talked until late, was real good. He is so good for me. See, I am still working on alot of issues with my recovery(from drug addiction as some of you know), and I have been told that you don’t mature emotionally beyond the point that you start using drugs, so that means that sometimes I have the emotionla make up of a teenager! Not always, but I do. So, I still have alot to do on myself, especially on the inside. Working on self esteem, and insecurity and trying to not be “high maintenance” emotionally, this is hard.
Planning ot do a good workout today, still not sure which one. Just want to be home today, and take things slow. Will call mom later, plus check out some websites to help mom with her meds.
Ted is gonna ride to California on Sunday with some friends to go to some drug program meetings, this will be so good for him. I am glad to see him getting out. I need to go back to meetings too, has been hard with taking care of mom.
Sorry if I sound depressed, I’m not, just tired, and trying to take it all in.
Hope you all have a good day! Hugs, to you all!
you are an inspiration — looking to the Word when you are tired and needing strength — amazing! get some rest in God’s arms, He will see you though!
He didn’t promise us we would have no problems, just that He will be with us to lean on . Took me a long time to finally get that. Strength when we need it most and someone to ask for help in the darkest times. Feel better and know you are loved. Big hug, Marge
I really like that…thanks. Bebe..is right…and it reminds me of a favorite…Footprints in the Sand. He is there to carry you when you need HIM. Hang in there and stay strong.
Thanks for that
Really helped me today Kama and it has been a rough one. Thanks for being such a great buddy!
Good Morning Kama,
You’ll feel better soon.
We all have times like these when we feel down and we don’t even really know why.
But getting back to your meetings is an awesome idea.
I know you get a lot out of them and seems like a great time to get back to it.
A day to just relax and hang out at home sounds great too.
You have been so busy lately and not just normal busy but busy dealing with emotional issues and that is draining for everyone.
Continue to lean on your faith and lean on your friends thats what we’re here for.
Big big hugs

Lori
Kama,
Nice blog and quotes. You are very supported and even with that it’s ok to take that time to process it all, take it all in, and digest everything going on for you. You are doing such an awesome job taking care of your mom and yourself - i am glad to see you are giving yourself a day to do what you need. hang in there - you’ve got it going on!
hugs ((((KAMA)))

Girl I feel ya but we have each other to lean on alone with GOD! I have been praying just as hard for you KAMA. It;s tough when everyone depends on us and it feels as if our world is closing in on us but GOD is always there to protect us with his love! Take care and know that we are all here for you!
Great blog…thanks for sharing so much of yourself. Stay strong, love ya!
My dear Kama, you do sound a bit tired. But why wouldn’t you be. I’d be exhausted. Just taking care of a sick parent can put your whole life into a frenzy, physically and emotionally.
Then having Ted gone..missing him :(….the new hours at work…let alone trying to get your workouts in everyday and eat healthy. Whew…wears me out just thinking about all of it.
I’m hoping these 3 days you have off from work will give you time to get rest. Like the others said, isn’t it so wonderful to know we have God on our side ALWAYS!!! YIPPEE!!! thats reason to get up and move ahead everyday.
I too hope you can get back to a meeting. Probably really a good thing for you, but look at all the people at those meetings that will be BLESSED by you Kama!!! Your words are always so genuine, loving and straight from the heart.
You take care my friend..you are so loved!!!
What you said about not growing emotionally from the point at which one becomes a user…boy, that gives me so much insight on my father. That could explain soooooo much. See, this sight is not just for weight loss–its a life facilitating site. Thanks, Kama.
Some days are harder then others, but thank you for these words. Much needed to know that we are so much alike. We will keep working on ourselves and little by little, LOVING OURSELVES, love you!
Have a great weekend Ms. Fiesty
*hugs*
Kama, I don’t think that emotional development is stunted by drugs. What gets stunted is unhealthy coping skills that a teenager would employ to get what she wants.
And personal growth never stops really so you are absolutely the same as all the other people who are learning their own lessons in life. There is nothing, nothing wrong with you Kama. You are a beautiful human being with all the imperfections.
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to be kind to yourself.
I used to do drugs too…and used all types of things to cope…
this food has been my favorite drug though…
thanks for the encouragment!
Oh, Kama! Thanks for sharing the good and the not-so-good of your life. Trust me when I say we all fight addictions of some sort (food for one) and all need healing. You are so strong for sharing your stuggle and inspiring others.
