TGIF!!!
We made it through another week!! Yay!! Had a good workout this morning, too!
Well, buddies, I have a situation. I have found I am VERY resistant to change. I want to change up my eating habits, and incorporate The South Beach Phase 2 into it, but for some reason, I’m not doing it. I get so stressed and not sure why. I KNOW it is healthy, but I keep making excuses. I don’t know why. Is it fear maybe? I don’t know why it is so hard for me. I know alot of you are doing it, and succeeding, but I just seem so set in my ways. I really feel it would help get these last few pounds off so why am I not doing it? Any thoughts, verbal kicks in the butt are welcome.
Well, with that off my chest, I hope you all have a great day! I will be here at lunch to read blogs, and check in. Love you all! Kama
Maybe this will help. The older we get the more resistant we are to change. And change is the very thing that helps keep us young. So….when we changed our routine at water aerobics and I was the biggest complainer, someone told me that was because I was getting old….! Oh my God. I made up my mind right then and there to embrace change. Of course I have to remind myself constantly, change is good, change is good, change is good, change is good…….

Theres nothing wrong with sticking to what was originally working for you in the first place. You just hit a plateu, and it will continue to come off…sometimes we just want things to fast. I think the SBD is a little tough, and requires a lot of commitment. And well, change just isn’t for everybody. You don’t neccessarily have to go on it full force, if you need achange, maybe just incorporate, part of it in your regular way of eating….Your doing awsome, look at what you have accomplished already.
I have to agree, sometimes we just have to stay with what has already worked for us. And I hate that plateau…it really sucks big time, but you have to do what feels comfortable for you Kama.
If you are uneasy about South Beach..hey thats ok…each one of us has to decide which plan is best. You know your body..you know your food likes and dislikes, and most of all you know how to LOSE WEIGHT!!! Look at you girl!!! You are amazing…I’m still in shock when I look at your Before and After pics!!!
So, long story short, YOU do what YOU want beause YOU have to live with YOU!!! right!!! Love ya!!

That’s so insightful of you to notice what you were up to with the hesitating and making excuses and all. what do you really think about it all? that may help you decide what to do. you could also give yourself a 2-3 week trial period with SB2 that way if you don’t like it, it doesn’t feel right or doesn’t work you will feel ok to go back. you are doing so much for yourself right now, be sure to cut yourself some slack. also, i know that for me, i can really stick to what i know is working to the exclusion of trying anything new. it is totally fear based - what if the new thing doesn’t ___ (fill in the blank). maybe you don’t want to screw up your success. who knows!
what i have read about those plateaus is that your body can get used to the same thing and therefore start to stay in one place. Shaking thins up is probably just what your bod needs. If the SB2 isn’t the route to do that, keep wiggling your eats and exercise around. you could do SB2 5 days a week, or eat all fruit and veggies one day a week - random things like that may help. ok, there’s my RANDOM advice for the week LOL. Go for what you truly want!
Wish I could help ya kiddo, but I’m the same way. I don’t like change!
My only thought was that you should try doing it slowly and maybe not rush it. Then maybe it will not be so fearful.
Just do it!!! lol lol lol You know me KAMA if you want those last pounds off…go for it!! Love ya
what’s the verdict? you gonna go for it? i’m sooo curious!
Kama, I think that going all the way, 100% into a new thing or staying in your comfort zone forever is equally unproductive. BALANCE. That’s the key. Try incorporating new things step by step, have a plan, have support and resources to get info when you have questions. Let your body adjust… and push it a little at the same time.
Kama, one of the reasons I got a trainer was that she started pushing me beyond my self-imposed and comfortable limits. But she did it gently, with knowldege and a program she designed for me.
I think something like that would work for your new eating plan. Constantly moving balance if there is such a thing.
Good luck!
