Good morning, buddies

Went and saw dad last nite. Can I say I hate nursing homes? The way the smell and all. Even though this is a nice one, and the staff seems great, I just want him to get better soon and out of there. Mom is ok, I guess, still wiped out. Going back over there tonite to help her take some more clean clothes to dad. He just looks so sick laying there, and frail. Seriously was fighting back tears the whole time I was there, and then bawled all the way back to mom’s. Dad was cute, though, trying to joke with me and stuff, but I could tell it was an effort on his part. It is hard to see my proud strong dad so helpless, but I know it is a natural part of life, and I’m trying to deal with it. Sorry to be so morose, I am emotionally drained.

Glad I have you all. I did do do my taebo cardio this morning, it does help with the stress.

So let’s hang together and get this done, ok? I promise you all, not gonna give up now, my parents need me to be the best I can be. Love you all, have a great day!!

happy wednesday

I understand about the nursing home and your Dad. As long as the staff is treating him well and he keeps his spirits up! Both my parents finally had to go to a nursing home, Mom with dementia and leg off. She was 59. Then Dad with leg off up to hip and bad strokes. So sad and all of our worst nightmare. Take care of yourself, honey. they need you. Love, Marge

I am sure it is hard to see your dad helpless but he will get better one day at a time. Having such a great daughter visit him I know will help him keep his spirits up. Its wonderful you got your cardio done and you haven’t forgot to take care of yourself. So happy that you are spending time with your mom too, I am sure it is rough for her too. Things will get better just hang in there.

I know that smell. I used to work in a nursing home, and that smell haunts me still. I am glad to hear that it is a good place with good people to care for your dad.

Keep on keeping on, you’re making us all proud!!

Reminds me of when my grandmother and great grandmother was in the nursing home. It just killed my mom to have to put them there, but there was no choice. It’s hard. Glad you are there for your mom, and happy to hear your dad is doing okay. The fact that he’s joking with you tells me he’s staying positive, which helps so much in the healing process.

    Big hugggggggggggggggggggggggs Kama,
    Shanna
